Artist's Description

Santo Desiertos, a spanish monastery for the brown robes,(order of the carmelitas) was discovered by hunters 100 years after abandonment in early 1800. Situated in the mountains above Tenancingo, the monastery was restored and occupied again in the early 1900's.

John Bartosik

Award winning Canadian Photographer John Bartosik, who studied at Toronto's Ryerson photo arts department was a commercial photographer serving corporate, industrial, tourism and institutional clients throughout North America. John's debut as a photographer initiated in Whistler, B.C.with the tourism industry. Surrounded by the majestic beauty of the Coast Mountains, John was inspired to continue his own personal photography, some of which was published in the first of three photo gift books titled Sea to Sky Country.
